Born in Fosterhill, Aberdeen, Sophie was a premature, fragile baby who was fighting for survival after midwives suggesting that she won't make it through the night based on her health being at it's worst, and being a premature newborn after being born hours earlier. Sophie had a blood clot in the brain, and had difficulty of breathing and was closely taking care of. She was cared in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), recovered and went home a month later.
Some of her problems can possibly be caused from premature birth, both mentally and physically. One of them is Learning Difficulties.
Sophie has always been self conscious about her body, and still is to this day. She also suffers from depression.
Before joining YouTube, she had a hard time during school where she constantly moved schools due to school not providing her extra learning support which she was born with learning difficulties.
She explained in her videos that not only she has learning difficulties but she has depression which she has been suffering since the first year she started her reaction channel. She said that her depression has got worse over the years, due to which she has received antidepressants through the doctors, which didn't work but currently going through counselling. She also mentioned that she has anxiety, which she thinks is what caused her to have depressions since the beginning.
Some viewers have realised some scratch marks on both of her hands in her videos, of which, the sources are not known, or if this is related to her mental illness.
During her 30k subscriber special she talked about her weight gain and her battle with depression. She states the reason she gained so much weight was because she didn't want to feel alone.
During the special she also stated that she and her family were self-quarantined a few weeks ago because her mother had the symptoms of COVID-19. She then stated that her mother is fine now. During the COVID-19 crisis she stated that they only went to the doctor for prescriptions though it’s not clear if they were for her mother or for Sophie’s depression.
Throughout the stream Sophie drank Vodka from a wine glass. On her 19th birthday (June 10, 2020) she drank so much she had a severe hangover. She did not upload any videos the next day, June 11, 2020. She later admitted that she drank Vodka every day.
During a reaction video she gave more details about her hearing problems even mentioning that she wears hearing aids.
